Ariana Varela
LADC, Therapist
If you’re seeking support for your mental health, you deserve a clinician who sees you as a whole person—one who honors your unique story, values your strengths, and guides you toward meaningful change.
My name is Ariana Varela. I am a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) working toward licensure as a professional clinical counselor. I am dedicated to helping individuals foster resilience and well-being, blending evidence-based practices with a deep commitment to empathy, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration.
Areas of Expertise
My approach is guided by the belief that mental well-being is a journey of both vulnerability and strength. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
Addiction: I meet you where you are on your recovery journey, utilizing both harm-reduction and abstinence-based approaches.
Anxiety and Depression: I help you understand the roots of your symptoms and develop healthier coping strategies.
Trauma and PTSD: My trauma-informed approach provides a safe, supportive environment to process difficult experiences and reclaim a sense of safety and empowerment.
Relationship Issues: I help you improve communication skills, resolve conflicts, and build stronger, more meaningful connections.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is collaborative and person-centered, rooted in the understanding that your story is unique. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies. I also integrate principles from attachment theory, narrative therapy, and emotion-focused therapy to create a holistic, strengths-based plan.
I believe therapy is most effective when built on trust, respect, and genuine human connection. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your concerns, experiment with new ways of thinking, and ultimately, create a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity
I am deeply committed to providing affirming care for adults and adolescents from all backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC individuals, and immigrant populations. My practice is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and guided by an anti-oppressive framework that honors each client’s lived experience.
Personal Statement
Above all, I view my work as a partnership. It is an honor to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, and I aim to offer warmth, encouragement, and practical guidance along the way. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to reach out. Thank you for your courage in taking this step—I look forward to supporting you.
